Featuring plenty of country charm, the Scenic Rim is the perfect area to go road tripping in, with winding country roads, classic pubs, lavender farms, regional markets and even roadside veggie stands. Considering it’s practically in the Gold Coasts’ backyard, the Scenic Rim is one of those best-kept secrets that you should experience at least once.
5. Brisbane
If you’re looking to spend a day shopping, trying different restaurants and doing some urban exploring then Brisbane should be your next destination. Located a short drive from the Gold Coast, Brisbane is easy to get to and makes for a great day trip away. With plenty of high-end fashion, world-class restaurants and numerous other daytime activities to keep you occupied, Brisbane is always a great option. Spend some time exploring South Bank and the Botanical Gardens or head off into West End and try out some famous speakeasies.
